Vintage Notes
Fruit sourced predominantly from the Lower Wairau (57%), the Waihopai Valley (22%), Rapaura (13%) and a small component from the Awatere Valley (8%) has been selected for the 2019 Estate blend.
After gentle pressing, the cloudy juice was clarified by floatation. Once clarified the juice was fermented at approximately 13° to 15°C for 3 weeks using a selection of aromatic yeasts to maximise the fruit characters inherent to Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
After fermentation the wine was racked and the individual parcels held separate on light lees to help maintain freshness before final selection and blending.
The wine was stabilised without the need for extra fining before final crossflow filtration to prepare for bottling.
From The Wine maker
Harvest 2019 will go down as one of the driest years we have seen with no rain between Christmas and early March. Our vineyards had mixed fortunes during flowering which resulted in some varieties having low berry numbers and small crops. The silver lining was lower crops, clean fruit with very good texture and mouthfeel.

About the Winery
Marlborough soils are a balanced mix of moisture and stone creating wines that are unique to our region. Our vineyards are based in one of the most dynamic climates in New Zealand, creating brilliant, fruity, fresh wines.Â
Warm clear days with loads of sunshine give us great conditions for ripening the fruit. Low impact of disease such as mould means our wines are very fruit driven and pure.Â
Ant Moore and our family of wine makers work hard and play hard. Â We treat wine making as a meticulous marriage of science and art. Â The grapes of Marlborough never sleep, and neither do we. Â At all hours of the day something magical is happening on the vineyards. Â Follow the story of our lives and see how passion and technology make Ant Moore wines an intimate experience…Â Â

Loved It.
Typical grassy and herbal undertones of a traditional Savvy, but with a tropical “passionfruity” flavour. The acid is really well balanced. I absolutely loved this savvy.
